England, 1861-62. A candlestick in the form of a boy with his dog, gilt. Fully marked and maker's mark of William Nicholson and Stephen Smith.* *Stephen Smith&William Nicholson were well known for manufacturing very fine silver in the mid19th Century. Works from this maker can be found in museums in the UK and Australia.
