LETTER TO SIR MOSES MONTEFIORE FROM LEADERS OF THE COMMUNITY OF UJHELY (HUNGARY).
Letter dated 1864, written in response to the proposal of R. Eliezer Lipman Silberman of Lyck, editor of Hamaggid, to publish a book containing letters of appreciation and blessings to Sir Moses Montefiore from rabbis and communities around the Jewish world. In their letter, the Ujhely Jewish community leaders express appreciation to all Sir Moses Montefiore’s efforts for Jews around the world.
