RABBI MESHULAM ZUSIA TWERSKY, CHERNOBLER REBBE OF BNEI BRAK, LETTER.

Letter dated 1951, sending blessings to Rabbi Moshe Kamelhar (son of Rabbi Yekusiel Aryeh, author of Dor Deiah and other works), who served as director of the Fund to Support Rabbinical Refugees, and thanking him for the five pounds sent for Yomtov expenses.

Rabbi Meshulam Zusia Twersky (1910-1988), was born in Russia to Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak, a direct descendant of the Rebbes of Chernobel. His mother was a daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshaya Halberstam of Chechoiv – Krakow and a granddaughter of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He escaped from Communist Russia in 1934 and travelled to Poland in 1936, spending three years close to his maternal grandfather. He returned to Jerusalem where he married a daughter of Rabbi Mordechai Yaakov Brandwein of Stretin. After WWII he established a Beis Hamedrash in Bnei Brak where chassidim of the Chernobel and Sanz dynasties were drawn to him, due to his saintly personality.

1 side. 21.5 x 26 cm. Good condition. Slight tears. Filing holes.
