Kuntras Kelalei HaShas, Manuscript, by Rabbi Asher Zelig Unger, (1910)

"Kelalei HaShas, compiled rrom Gemora Arucha and Rashi and Tosfot and Poskim and other Seforim alphabetically ordered...". Booklet in a hard cover, with a title page, introduction and alphabetically ordered Leket Kelalei HaShas.

Approx. [30] leaves, manuscript, in a larger booklet with many additional leaves on which alphabetically ordered letters are noted. 11 cm. Author's signatures in a foreign language on the flyleaves and in Hebrew at the end of his introduction to the Sefer: "הק' אשר זעליג אנגער מיושב מויסיעף יע"א".

In the introduction, Rabbi Asher Zelig Unger wrote the purpose of his writing the compilation: "I have come to clarify to those who read this Kuntras so they will not suspect me of writing this due to my vanity G-d forbid since Hashem Yitbarach who knows the thoughts and purifies the hearts  knows that I have done this only since I saw that this cannot be learned, even one line of it, since everything has a different rule and the Torah is poor in one place and rich elsewhere. Although there are many Seforim widespread in all Yisrael who discuss the matter, anyhow what can I do that I do not own those Seforim since I cannot afford them. And if Hashem Yitbarach streches my limits I will undoubtedy buy those Seforim and study them thoroughly. Therefore I have come to clarify that this Kuntras I have compiled ... and authored alphabetically in very short and I have done so only for my sake so as not to be wandering around like a blind at noon and when I am learning I will not have to search and peruse..."

We have not found additional information about the author; yet his compilation indicates that he was a great yet poor Talmid Chacham.
