Book of discourses by Rabbi Shem Tov ben Yosef Shem Tov, that has not been republished since the end of the 16th century.
On the title page: “Torah discourses of the complete G-dly sage Shem Tov son of Shem Tov z”l”
“After giving much praise and thanks (to G-d), I record that I am Shem Tov son of my master Rabbi Yosef Shem Tov, and I have transcribed the discourses that I expounded upon in public, ever since G-d enabled me to dwell in His courtyard…”
The opening page features an etching of the Dome of the Rock that was built upon the Muslims conquest of the Holy Land. The words ‘Bet HaMikdash’, as well as the words of Chagai the Prophet ‘This house will be great said G-d Almighty’ appear on this etching. This depiction was the famed printer’s mark of the printer Giustiniani, who printed this book.
