Kol Yaakov. Venice, 1658. First Edition. With Lamentation about the Calamities of Tach V’Tat. Kabbalah. Rare!

Sefer Kol Yaakov is a compilation of homilies according to Kabbalah, authored by Rabbi Yaakov Kapil Margulies of Vladimir. (Rabbi Yaakov was a prisoner of war and was taken from Poland to Turkey. Eventually, in Constantine, the Jewish community redeemed him.


The book opens with the author’s introduction about the pogroms in Poland. At the end of the book appears a moving lamentation “On the murder of the sages of Poland” on the pogroms of Tach V’Tat.
