Mizmor LeToda (Tehillim). Venice, 1576. First Edition.
Outstandingly beautiful copy of a rare book which was authored out of thanks to G-d for recovery from illness.

The book, Mizmor LeTodah, is an elucidation on Tehillim, with the verses of Tehillim. Authored by Rabbi Shmuel Aripol who lived in the same time period as the Ari HaKadosh. Rabbi Aripol authored this book as thanks to G-d following his recovery from an illness.

The book includes explanations on Chapter 119 of Tehillim, as well as to the Chapters of Shir HaMa’alot. The opening letter of each chapter is beautifully decorated.

Rabbi Shmuel Aripol was one of Salonika’s great sages. He served as Rabbi of the Jewish community in Damascus, Syria. He later immigrated to the Holy Land, settling in Tzfat. Rabbi Aripol was famed for his erudition in both the hidden and revealed parts of the Torah. He authored a number of works including Agaddat Shmuel, Zevach Todah and others.
