Personal Zohar of The Gaon Rabbi Gedaliah Lipshitz, Father of The "Tiferet Yisrael" and 'Regel Yesharah'.

With his own Glosses in the Margins.

Sefer HaZohar by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. This copy belonged to the Great among the Giants, Rabbi Gedaliah Lipshitz, father of the esteemed gaon Rabbi Yisrael Lipshitz, author of "Tiferet Yisrael" on the Mishnah.

Throughout the book, there are various glosses, including lengthy annotations in the holy handwriting of Rabbi Gedaliah Lipshitz. Some of these annotations quote his son, Rabbi Eliezer Lipshitz, the brother of Rabbi Yisrael, author of "Tiferet Yisrael."

On page 20: "Until here are the words of my son, the esteemed genius, my master and teacher, Rabbi Eliezer, may his memory be a blessing." And similarly, in several other glosses, Rabbi Gedaliah quotes the words of his son, Rabbi Eliezer, who, as is known, passed away at a young age, and none of his Torah teachings remained at all!
Rabbi Gedaliah Lipshitz:

The esteemed Gaon Rabbi Gedaliah Lipshitz (1700-1799), the Av Beit Din (head of the rabbinical court) of the town of Kleve and Chodzish, was the author of "Regel Yesharah" and other books. He was the father of the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Lipshitz, author of "Tiferet Yisrael" on the Mishnah, and the son of the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Lipshitz, Av Beit Din of Kleve (known from the "Get of Kleve" affair). Rabbi Gedaliah was a remarkable genius, and already at the age of twenty-four, he received semicha (rabbinic ordination) from the Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ginsburg of Metz, author of "Sha'agat Aryeh."

In his youth, He was the Rabbi of Emden, and later became the Av Beit Din in Obertzishk. Afterwards, until his passing, he served as an Av Beit Din in Chodzish. His son, Rabbi Yisrael Lipshitz, became known for his commentary "Tiferet Yisrael" on the Mishnah, which was accepted in all Jewish communities and has been printed in hundreds of editions to this day. His father, Rabbi Gedaliah, was his prominent Rabbi and mentor, and greatly influenced him in his unique approach to learning Torah. The extensive focus on explaining the Mishnah with direct understanding and depth also came from his father, as stated and emphasized by Rabbi Gedaliah with great respect in the introduction to his commentary on Seder "Nashim": "All of my commentary came from the guidance that I received, ever since the dawn of my life, since the day I left my mother's womb, from the crown of my head and the glory of all Israel, my master and teacher, my great father, the famous gaon, may his holy memory be blessed... When I was still young, he greatly encouraged me to study the holy Mishnah, and I diligently sought its gates every day..." (For more on the life of Rabbi Gedaliah, see: Mordechai Meir, "HaRav Gedalyahu the son of Yisrael Lipshitz, Father of 'Tiferet Yisrael, '" Yeshurun 18, pp. 474-478).
In the year 1799 (תקפ"ו), he returned his soul to its Creator.
