Kol Mussar, poem on ethics authored by Rabbi Shimshon Cohen Modon. With approbations that are similarly written in poetry form.

Fifty poems on holy and mundane matters: on judgement, fast days, a parable of diligent and lazy persona, rebuke to drunkards and more.
The opening of the book includes poetry in honor of the author, written by Rabbi David son of Rabbi Ezriel Panzi and Dr Klonimus of Italy.
The title of each poem is surrounded by a decorative border. Includes numerous illustrations and decorative elements: a sun drawn with a face, figures, the Kohanim hand symbol and more.

The title page features handwritten owner’s signature: “Mordechai Ben Zion Luria yt”v Mantua Year 5566”.
Rabbi Shimshon ben Yaakov HaKohen Modon (1679-1727) was one of Mantua’s sages. He was a disciple of Rabbi Yehudah Brail and author of Kol Mussar (Mantua, 1727) and other works.

[32] leaves. 25.5 cm. Very good condition. Quality, thick, light-colored paper with wide margins. Parchment binding from that era, with notations on it. Detached binding.
