Devarim Tovim. Commentary on Megillat Kohellet Authored by The Alshich HaKadosh. Sefer Yesod! Copy Belonging to the Tzfat Kabbalist, Rabbi Yaakov She’altiel Ninyo. First Edition. Venice, 1601.
Megillat Kohellet with Rabbi Moshe Alshich’s commentary. Published by his son Rabbi Chaim Alshich. Edited by his disciple, Rabbi Yitzchak Gershon.

The writings of the holy Alshich were enthusiastically received by Jewry across the world. They were recognized as fundamental works in understanding Tanach and the prophets’ words.

The title page bears the signature of the Tzefat Kabbalist, Rabbi Yaakov She’altiel Ninyo.
Rabbi Yaakov She’altiel Ninyo (1800-1849) was a disciple of Rabbi Chaim Palagi. He was miraculously saved from the earthquake in 1837 that struck Tzefat and Tiberias. Born in Jerusalem, Rabbi Yaakov was name after his grandfather, Chacham Yaakov Ninyo, a leading Tzfat sage and author of Kehillot Yaakov. Due to his great poverty, Rabbi Yaakov She’altiel relocated to Tiberias. In 1833 he travelled to Izmir on a mission, where he developed his connection with Rabbi Chaim Palagi.

Venice, 1601. Di Gara Press.
