Responsa "Or HaMeir" – With a Handwritten Dedication and Signature of the Author, Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin. Piotrków, 1926. First Edition.
This is a book of responsa, "Or HaMeir, " containing responsa written by Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin during his tenure as the rabbi of Piotrków.
This copy includes a dedication in the author's handwriting to Rabbi Ben Zion Lipshitz and his signature at the end of the dedication.
The esteemed Rabbi Yehuda Meir Shapira (5647-5694): served as Av Beit Din of Galina Piotrków and Lublin, and was the head of the "Chachmei Lublin" yeshiva, the pride of Polish Jewry. He was the founder of the Daf Yomi (daily Talmud study) initiative, an active rabbi. He was a great genius who established a pillar of Torah at the foundation of the "Chachmei Lublin" yeshiva. He served as a rabbi in esteemed Jewish communities, a Hasid deeply connected to his followers, an educator, a composer, and a moving speaker. Rabbi Shapira, known as the Mahar"m, passed away at the young age of 47.
