Pirkei Moshe by Rabbi Moshe Almosnino. Pirkei Avot. Salonika, 1563. Single Edition. Beautiful Copy in Antique Binding

This is the first book he authored, and is the one and only edition of it.

Phenomenal elucidation on Masechet Pirkei Avot, authored by Rabbi Moshe Almosnino.

Masechet Avot is also referred to as Pirkei Avot. It is the ninth Masechet in Seder Nezikin of the Mishnah. Unlike the rest of the tractates that deal with laws and Halachot, this tractate focuses on matters of ethics, positive character traits and Derech Eretz.

Rabbi Moshe Almosnino was a prominent 16th Century, Salonika scholar. A scion of distinguished Aragon family, Rabbi Moshe was born in Salonika. He studied Torah in Rabbi Yosef Taitachek’s Yeshiva. An accomplished scholar, Rabbi Moshe was also well versed in Science, Philosophy, Medicine, Spanish Literature and a number of languages.
Politically astute, Rabbi Moshe led a delegation on behalf of Salonika Jewry to Constantinople to champion the rights of Jews. Rabbi Moshe authored many works, much of which he wrote in Ladino. Rabbi Moshe stood at the helm of two Salonika communities.

Salonika, 1563. Single edition.
111 leaves. Impressive, complete copy. Some stains on the last leaves. Aside from this, a splendid copy with wide margins and thick Rigel paper.
