First Edition, printed during the author’s lifetime in the Bragadin Press. With personal dedication.


Complete copy of the Sefer Yesod, Kiryat Sefer. This work is a commentary on the Rambam, authored by Rabbi Moshe of Trani, The Mabit.

This copy includes the last 3 leaves that were printed by the author as an addendum: “After the book’s printing was complete, we received this from the Rabbi, the author, and therefore we printed it at the back”. These leaves do not appear in all copies.

On the final leaf, following the printed text, The Mabit writes a final line in his holy handwriting. The handwriting of our Rabbi HaMabit, one of the greatest sages of Safed and Israel of all generations, is extremely rare!

Rabbi Moshe of Trani, The Mabit, was a leading 16th Century Rabbi in Tzfat. Born in Salonika, Rabbi Moshe studied in Adrianople. He later emigrated to Tzfat and studied in Rabbi Yaakov Berab’s Yeshiva, becoming his ardent and beloved disciple. Rabbi Moshe later joined Rabbi Berab’s Beit Din and was recognized for his greatness.
