Exceptional Plasterwork of the Door of the Alhambra, Diego Fernández de Castro (1847-1920), late 19th century
Keeping its old label on the back and signed Diego Fernández de Castro, sculptor in Arabic ornamentation of the Royal Chamber of His Majesty the King, Calle de Gomeres, Granada, reduced to 10 times its original size. Measurements: 69 x 44.5 cm. Reference bibliography: "The models of the Alhambra in the 19th century: A source of dissemination and information about the Nasrid complex." Asunción González Pérez Doctoral thesis co-directed by Drs. Concepción Abad Castro and Mariam Rosser-Owen.(Department of Art History and Theory. Autonomous University of Madrid.March 2017). Works in relation, a plasterwork from the same period and author preserved in the Museum of the Alhambra, Granada.
