St. Petersburg. Edition X. Krause. 1901-1903 [4], XIII, 56, + 3 on ed. sheets, + 34 pages of advertising.
In a publisher's calico cover with gold lettering on the front cover. Size 25.5 x 34.5 cm. The gold lettering is partially erased. Tear of the spine in the upper part, minor scuffs, breaks on the flyleaf. The block falls out of the binding. The pages are clean and in very good condition. The title page has the owner's signature.
Richly illustrated historical essay, published for the bicentennial of St. Petersburg. The illustrations are made from old engravings from the collection of P. Ya. Dashkov.
Ivan Nikolaevich Bozheryanov (1852-1919) was a Russian art critic and author of popular historical works.
