Lengthy responsum handwritten and signed by the Av Beis Din of Pshavorsk, Rabbi Avraham Ze'ev Wolf Reisher to the Gaon author of the Beis Ephraim on the law of Heiter Isha LeBa'alah. Lag BaOmer [1811].
[7] pages handwritten and signed by Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Reisher, Av Beis Din of Pshavorsk, author of the Meshiv KaHalacha Shut to his childhood friend the renowned Gaon Rabbi Eprahim Zalman Margolis, about a woman who committed adultery, believing it was permitted. Brody [?], [1811].
[3] leaves, 19X24 cm, approx. 160 lines handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Reisher. The lengthy and reasoned responsum deals with a woman who admitted before the Beis Din that she had committed adultery when she was sick, having being persuaded by a physician that she will not be cured unless she abide him and thinking it was permitted. Her husband did not know of it and the Rav is clarifying whether there is an obligation to inform the husband and whether some Heiter can be found. This responsum was not printed in his Sefer - Meshiv KaHalacha Shut. However, a responsum on a similar matter was printed in the Beis Ephraim. Enclosed is a leaf about him and confirmation by an expert who identified his handwriting.
Rabbi Avraham Ze'ev Wolf Frankel (1780-1849) the son of the Chassid Rabbi Binyomin Frankel. Since his youth was considered an Iluy. Studied at the Kloiz of Linsk and the Zamushtsh Yeshiva and was Rav and Av Beis Din of Pshavorsk. Later he moved to Brody and then to Reisha. Was renowned as a great Gaon, philathropist, Chassid and Tzaddik who supported the poor of his city and its Torah insitutions. Although he did not serve there as Rav, he wrote halachic responsa and delivered sermons on Aggadah and Mussar.
Aging stains, blemishes to the margins which were professionally restored. Good condition.
