Letter of Blessings by the Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin to Rabbi Nachman Sofer-Papirna
Letter of blessings for the New Year sent by the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin to the famed Chassid Rabbi Aharon Haltovsky, with blessings for the famed Chassid Rabbi Nachman Sofer Papirna of Jerusalem.
The letter was handwritten by the Gabai and signed by the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin, who confirms he received charity money sent by the Chassid Rabbi Aharon Haltovsky on behalf of the important Rav Rabbi Nachman ben Tzipora Sofer. The Rav writes: והנני בזה לברכו שיתברך ממקור הברכות והישועות בכל מילי דמיטב אך טוב וחסד ירדפהו כל הימים לרבות הלילות ויזכה לתת מתוך הרחבה ויכתב ויחתם בספרן של צדיקים לאלתר לחיים בשנה טובה ומאושרה כחפצו וכחפץ דושו"ט - the handwritten signature of Rabbi Avraham Elimelech.
Rabbi Aharon Haltovsky [1897-1988] a Chassid of Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin and a Chassid and confidante of the holy Rav Rabbi Moshe Mordechai of Lelov. A great Talmid Chacham.
Rabbi Nachman Sofer Papirna [1895-1986] was born in Pinsk and lived in Shedlitz, where he followed Rabbi Yehoshua Asher of Porisov Shedlitz. Immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1920 where he became a renowned scribe. The Tzaddikim of the generation ordered their Tefillin from him including the Rebbe the Rayatz of Lubavitch, the holy Rav Rabbi Yochanan of Karlin Stolin, the holy Rav of Skvira, the Rav of Brisk and the Chazon Ish.
