מהדורה שניה של הספר המפורסם, נדפס בחיי המחבר – המלבי"ם.
רבי עובדיה הדאיה [תר"ן-תשכ"ט], מגדולי חכמי ירושלים והמקובלים שבה. כיהן בראשות ישיבת המקובלים 'בית אל' בעיר העתיקה בירושלים ולאחר מכן כיהן כרבה הראשי הספרדי של העיר פתח תקווה. היה מיזוג נפלא של פוסק ומקובל, הוא היה בד בבד ראש ישיבת המקובלים בירושלים וחבר בית הדין הרבני הגדול. נקרא על שם ספר השו"ת שלו 'ישכיל עבדי' (שמונה חלקים).
