KL Miranda de Ebro postcard 1942
Many Polish refugees who illegally crossed the Franco-Spanish border after the fall of France and throughout the period of 1940?1944 were interned in the Miranda de Ebro camp. Their number is estimated at 1,200-2,000 people. In Miranda de Ebro he was imprisoned, among others Antoni Kępiński, who was captured along with a group of Poles who crossed the Pyrenees after the capitulation of France. Most of the Polish concentration camp prisoners were sent to the camp in Miranda de Ebro. Franco, however, gradually released them and did not hand them over to the Germans, despite the pressure of Berlin diplomacy. The Spanish authorities also allowed the activities of the Polish Red Cross and organizations related to the Polish government in London************IMPORTANT!
