American Quartersawn Oak S-Roll Top Desk
American roll-top desk. Late 19th/early 20th century. Quartersawn oak desk in s-roll form, nine lower drawers, and thirty-six inner drawers. Roll-top is separated from desk. Tears and separations to burlap and fabric lining on back of roll-top. Roll top is separated into three pieces but partially joined by burlap and fabric. Bottom molding of roll-top is completely separated. Back panel of desk is joined together with later Phillips screws. Scratches, scuffs, and marks to wood throughout. Crack to wood on left edge of desk top. Wear and losses to wood on bottom of pedestals. Wear to wood where lid originally sat on desk top. Repair and loss to drawer face on one central drawer within desk. Chip and loss to wood on front left corner of desk.
55" W x 35 1/4" D x 50 1/4" H. 366 lbs total.
