Impressive Document With a Handwritten and Signed Addition from Rabbi Avraham Son of R' Chaim Palagi. Izmir, 1879

Large, impressive document - letter of absolution signed on the 4th day of Cheshvan at a beit din in Izmir, 1879. The document was signed between two partners who are mentioned by name (Asher Matalon and Moshe Koainkas) who ran a merchandise transport business. In this document, both sides recognize that the partnership has been dismantled, and declare they have no claims against each other. The agreed-upon arbitrators are also mentioned in the document - Rabbis Mordechai Istrono and Sir Yitzchak Juklir.

Signed on the document are Rabbi Shmuel Rachamim Pontrimali (twice) and an additional signatory - Rabbi Bechor Yehudah ..., followed by the av beit din the gaon Rabbi Avraham Palagi, son of Rabbi Chaim Palagi, who added his signature and three more lines confirming the fulfillment of this document. His ink stamp appears alongside his signature. Handwritten documents from him are rare and very sought-after.

Two stamps on the top of the documents from the government in Arabic confirming the document.

[1] leaf thick paper. 37x50 cm.
