Sharp Letter From Rabbi Yisrael Yechiel Honnelyn, Av Beit Din of Plotzk - Son-in-Law of the Admo"r of Kapust. 1897

"Anyone who is G-d-fearing is concerned about not eating from shechitah that happens through your encroachment, and will be careful not to bring an abomination into his mouth, Heaven forbid"

Sharp letter about hasagat gevul related to shechitah by Rabbi Yisrael Yechiel Honnelyn, av beit din of Plotzk, a suburb of Vitebsk - son-in-law of the Admo"r Rabbi Shlomo Zalman of Kapust, author of Magen Avot. He wrote to shochtim and bodkim in the nearby city about ritual slaughterers that come and take away their business, who start slaughtering without permission from rabbinic leaders. Their shechitah is therefore abominable, and even if their claim is justified, their slaughter is invalid. They have the status of thieves, evildoers and heretics. If they return to slaughtering, they are considered mumar l'davar echad - an apostate when it comes to that matter, until they approach rabbis to make peace between the sides.
