Beautiful Letter Handwritten by Rabbi David Yehudah Silverstein, Av Beit Din of Weitzen, Author of Yad David
Beautiful letter covering two pages, entirely handwritten and signed by the gaon Rabbi David Yehudah Silverstein, may his blood be avenged, av beit din of Weitzen, son and successor of the author of Ma'aseh L'Melech. Sent to the Tomchei Torah organization in the United States. Weitzen, 1933.
In his letter, the av beit din of Weitzen expresses his appreciation to the heads of Tomchei Torah, Rabbis Rabbi Moshe Weinberger, Eliyahu Jung and Avraham Tzvi Friedman, for their support for his yeshivah. He indicates in this letter that members of his yeshivah study mishnah the entire year and recite kaddish d'rabbanan in memory of R' Shlomo ben R' Chaim Yitzchak [apparently one of the donors]. He concludes the letter expressing hope that they stay at the yeshivah's side and continue supporting Torah scholarship.
