Sefer Pirkei D'Rabi Eliezer HaGadol with the Rada"l's commentary, by Rabbi David Luria, and with Hagahot HaGr"a. Two title pages. Warsaw, 1852-1854. First edition. Including the rare leaves lacking in most copies. Dozens of handwritten glosses and revisions in the publisher's penmanship. Beautiful copy with wide margins.


[4] leaves of omissions and revisions are bound at the end of the sefer along with a responsum on hilichot sta"m by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Levine. These leaves are not present in most copies.


This important work by Rabbi David Luria is the primary commentary on Pirkei D'Rabi Eliezer. With the last leaf which contains the signed names, including the Admo"r of Gur, the author of Chiddushei HaRi"m and the Admo"r of Lubavitch, author of Tzemach Tzeddek. This leaf was printed 2-3 years after the sefer was printed. The publisher writes at the beginning of the sefer that he received approbations from the two aforementioned Admo"rim.


Dozens of short glosses, revisions and marks handwritten by the publisher appear along the leaves of the sefer. Especially important gloss on leaf 2. Rabbinic owners' signatures on the title page.

Fine condition. Aging stains. The first title page is completed from another, smaller copy. Professionally completed margins matching the rest of the sefer. Stickers for reinforcement in the margins of the second title page, far from the text. New binding.
