Early Prints: Group of [6] Sefarim by the Gr"a Printed in Jerusalem. Late 1800s

* Passover haggadah with commentaries by Rash"i, Rashba"m, Ritv"a; Gevurot Hashem by the Mahara"l, Olelot Ephraim, and a commentary on "Chad Gadya" by Rabbeinu Eliyahu of Vilna - the Gr"a, a commentary by the Chatam Sofer and more. The second title page at the front bears a picture of a vase with flowers. The back of the title page features a copperplate of the Western Wall and the Temple Mount. Jerusalem, Beck Press, 1863.

Two title pages - the first title page lists the names of some of the commentators, and the second title page lists the commentaries by the Gr"a and the Chatam Sofer. The commentaries by the Gr"a and the Chatam Sofer are printed at the end, after the haggadah, with separate pagination. The last leaf bears the Gr"a's commentary on the hymn and a supercommentary by his disciple, Rabbi Shlomo of Tulchin. This is the first edition of the commentary by Rabbi Shlomo of Tulchin.

Approbations by gedolei Yerushalayim appear on the back of the first title page - Rabbi Yehudah Leib of Kutna, author of Zayit Ra'anan; Rabbi Meir Auerbach of Kalish, author of Imrei Binah; Rabbi Nachum Lowey of Shadik, and the Rishon LeTziyon Rabbi Chaim David Chazzan.

On the title page: "Printed in the large and praiseworthy press reestablished [!] in Jerusalem, " the press run by Rabbi Yechiel Brill, Michel HaKohen and Yoel Moshe Salomon. As is known, their press was established in 1822 as a lithograph press. After some time, they began to use a regular press, which caused a huge dispute between them and Yisrael Beck, the renowned printer. Both sides printed newspapers (HaLevanon, HaChavatzelet). Due to slander to the authorities about "forbidden content, " the authorities in Constantinople ordered closure of the newspapers. The governor of Jerusalem closed both presses completely. After much effort and "financial arrangements" for the corrupt clerks, they were permitted to reopen the presses.
