Wonderful New Year's Blessings from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with the Addition of the Rebbe's Handwritten Blessing!

"My blessing to [you] and all that is [yours], to be inscribed and sealed for the good; a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually ..."

Letter full of wonderful blessings for a good sweet year signed by the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch. Brooklyn, New York. Days of Selichot, 1962. The letter concludes with a huge blessing in his own hand.

Instead of writing the date as is customary on his letters, the Rebbe wrote here: Yemei HaSelichot - days of mercy when "The King is in the field - prayers and blessings will soon be fulfilled (according to the Alter Rebbe's essay). This segulah period strengthens the Rebbe's wonderful blessings that appear later in this letter: "For the upcoming new year, may it be a blessed good year for us and the entire Jewish people, I hereby extend my blessing to [you] and all that is [yours], to be inscribed and sealed for the good, a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually, sincerely, with blessings, M. Schneerson."

Careful examination of the Rebbe's words show that in his few words he includes all necessary blessings, in both the material and spiritual realms, to the recipient and his entire family - what could be better or sweeter than "a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually"?

The jewel in the crown of this most important letter with blessings is the word the Rebbe added next to the printed word "with blessings, " possibly the most important in the world - b'kavod - (sincerely/with respect/honorably/pride). Honor motivates a person from the time he enters the world and until he leaves it for most hours of the day - what people will say about him, how he looks, etc., etc., [honor is not a bad thing, not imaginary pride, it is true Jewish pride the Rebbe refers to here].

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson and of the addressee, Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Schtzdrovitzki.

[1] official stationery leaf, 22 cm. The letter is typewritten with the addition of one word and one letter in the Rebbe's hand, with his signature at the end.

Fine-very fine condition. Fold marks.
