Da'at Kedoshim by Rabbi Raphael Av Beit Din of Ah"u - Important Handwritten Glosses, Signatures by Rabbi David Ragoler

Da'at Kedoshim - derushim in halachah and aggadah by the famed gaon Rabbi Raphael Ziskind HaKohen Katz, known as "Rabbi Raphael Hamburger" - one of the leading rabbis of his generation and rabbi of the Ah"u communities (Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbek). First edition, printed by the author himself. Altona, 1796.

Several important handwritten glosses appear on the leaves of the sefer.

The title page features several signatures: "David B'HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Eliyahu  av beit din of Kalish"; "David ... of Slobodka." These are apparently signatures of the gaon Rabbi David Ragoler, son of the sacred gaon Rabbi Eliyahu, who served as  av beit din of Slabodka and Kalish. Rabbi David edited his father's writings but was not privileged to print them in his lifetime. The writings were later arranged by Rabbi Yehonatan Eliashberg, and printed under the title Yad Eliyahu.

Signatures and stamps by R' Chaim Shaul Poliak of Slutzk (Rabbi David Ragolar lived in Slutzk). Additional notations attributing the  sefer to Rabbi Aryeh Leib Kozak of Timkowitz.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Raphael Ziskind HaKohen Katz.
