Day 1 of Worthington's Annual Holiday Auction includes fine art and collectibles from all major categories, including oil and watercolor paintings, rare etchings and engravings, bronze & stone Sculptures, antique furniture, porcelain & pottery, antique books & maps, and a large selection of rare ethnographic art and artifacts, including ancient, prehistoric, and pre-columbian (Chinese, Native American & Pre-Columbian) The ethnographic art comes from several important collections and estates, including the prominent private ethnographic collection from the Estate of Paul S. Hughey, all of which were previously on loan to the Mississippi Museum of Art and the large Reynolds collection of Prehistoric Native American Artifacts, Townsend, Tennessee. Day 2 of the auction is on November 26 at 10:00am.

Description: Pair of 19th c. Board Game Lithographic Engravings: 1) Spooner's Game of English History, and 2) Wallis's Locomotive Game of Railroad Adventures.

Spooner's Game of English History by William Spooner, originally published Nov. 1847 by William Spooner, 379 Strand, corner of Southampton Street; Printed by L’Enfant T. litho. 12 Rathbone Place. 1847; The Game of 74 numbered boxes containing the dates relating to the various rulers / events. Along the way images of historical events; The game is a race from the Invasion of Julius Caesar through the leading events of English History to 1845, the last four pictures of battles: Culloden, Trafalgar, Sobraon. Waterloo. A most attractive piece of printing with brilliant coloring.

Wallis's Locomotive Game of Railroad Adventures by Edward Wallis, originally published in London by Edward Wallis, Skinner Street, [c. 1825-1847]; Etching, 49 illustrated medallions - The 49 medallions are set on two levels and each shows a picture of a station or a railway carriage.

Framed: Each with matching matting and frame under glass.
