A volume of important books with the signatures of Rabbi Moshe Sofer of Zibenbergen - including the book She'erit Zion by Rabbi Ben Zion of Shlez, a copy with a very rare cover - including a special poem on the cover page in honor of the centenary of the birth of minister Moshe Montefiore.

1. Sefer She'erit Zion, On the Torah, by Rabbi Ben Zion of Shlez, Jerusalem, 1883 - vey rare book - includes an additional cover page that is not found in all copies and is not documented by Shoshana Halevi.

On the cover page and beyond it are poems in honor of the centenary of the birth of Minister Moshe Montefiore. The song of the cover is not recorded by Halevi, apparently it is the cover she did not see.

The holy Rabbi Moshe Sofer of Zibenbirgan [first of Pesach 1841- 26 of She'vat 1927] was born on the first day of Pesach 1841 on the knees of his father Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer the K'tav Sofer About a year and a half after the departure of the Hatam Sofer and his father called his son after him.

From a young age he stuck to his father and learned most of his Torah from him. In his responsa book Ketem Sofer, we find many answers that he sent to him while he was serving as rabbi in Zibenbergen.

In the year 1868, he married Mrs. Rivkah, the eldest daughter of the famous governor, Elimelech Rosenfeld of Sefalak, who was a great scholar and and owned an estate in the village in Siebenbergen, and moved to live near his brothers in Siebenbergen, where upon his arrival, the townspeople welcomed him as rabbi over them and even appointed him a Sho'chet and a Mohel in their town.

He became known as an expert scribe slaughterer and mohel.

Good tool condition. Dryness in the pages. Slight tears. Light stains. Loose worn cover, with a break and a tear in the spine.

על דף השער ומעבר לו שירים לכבוד מאה שנה להולדת השר משה מונטפיורי. השיר של השער אינו מתועד אצל הלוי, כפי הנראה זה השער שהיא לא ראתה.

הרה"ק רבי משה סופר מזיבנבירגן [א דפסח תר"א - כ"ו שבט תרפ"ז] נולד ביום א דפסח תר"א על ברכי אביו רבי אברהם שמואל בנימין סופר בעל כתב סופר. כשנה וחצי לאחר הסתלקותו של החתם סופר וקראו אביו על שמו.

מצעירותו דבק באביו ולמד ממנו רובי תורתו, וכפי שמכנהו אביו בחיבה 'תלמידי הבחור המופלג השנון'. בספר השו"ת שלו שאלות ותשובות כתם סופר, אנו מוצאים תשובות רבות ששלח אליו בהיותו על כהונתו כרב בזיבנבירגן.

בשנת תרכ"ד השתדך עם מרת רבקה בתו הבכירה של הנגיד המפורסם מו"ה אלימלך רוזנפלד מסעפלאק, שהיה ת"ח גדול ויר"ש מרבים והיה בעל אחוזה בכפר ק. סעפלאק אשר בזיבנבירגן, ועבר לגור בסמיכות לחמיו בזיבנבירגן שם עם בואו קבלוהו עליהם בני העיר לרב עליהם ואף מינוהו לשוחט ומוהל בעיירתם.

נודע כספרא רבה כשוחט ומוהל מומחה וכפי שהמליץ עליו אביו את הפסוק 'נתתי לך שכם אחד על אחיך' שכם ר"ת שחיטה כתיבה מילה.

מצב כלי טוב-. יובש בדפים. קרעים קלים. כתמים קלים. כריכה בלויה רופפת, עם ניתוק וקרע בשדרה.
