Long letter, dated 1891, discussing halachic laws of Basar be’Chalav, snet by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Akselrod, Rabbi of Polotzk to Rabbi Meir Robinsohn, Rabbi of Radishkowitz. The latter part of the letter bemoans the passing of Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Rabinowitz of Slabodka.
Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Akselrod (1860-1903), disciple of Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan of Kovna and Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Yehuda of Volozhin. Rabbi of Dolhinov (1894) and Polotzk. Author of Menoras Shlomo, Divrei Shlomo and other works.
Rabbi Meir Rubinsohn (1852-1936), son of Rabbi Yehoshua Tzvi of Vandzigola. Rabbi of Krok (1878-1883), Shwintzian (1883-1886) and Radishkowitz. Settled in Yerushalayim in 1933. Author of Drashos Mabitz, Miktzo’os Hachoshen, Nimukei Mabitz and Teshuvos Mabitz.
