HEINRICH HIMMLER
(1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Great association T.L.S. on NSDAP letterhead, 1p. sm. 4to., Munich, March 14, 1929, sent from the party's propaganda department to the Gauleiter of Cologne JOSEF GROHE (1902-1987). In part: '…Dr. Goebbels has been informed that he will speak in Cologne on 9.4.29…. [it is] understood that Dr. Ley on 9.4. will speaks in Silesia…I have received your letter of 6.3 with many thanks; the report is very interesting.' Himmler signs 'H. Himmler' at the conclusion in black ink. Folds, two file holes else fine. Grohe joined the NSDAP in 1922, co-founded the Nazi organization in Cologne in that year, and later served as the Reichskommissariat of Belgium and Northern France. Sold with a photo postcard of Himmler with German General Friedrich Paulus.
