EARLY S.A. DAGGER WITH SCABBARD
- Early S.A. dagger, approx. 8.75 in. blade, 13.5 in. overall, with hardwood handle, solid nickel-silver crossguard, and brown anodized scabbard. The ricasso bears the maker's mark from 'F. Dick' of Esslingen, while the crossguard is Gau-stamped 'Wm'. The acid-etched 'Alles fur Deutschland' motto on the side of the blade has lightened slightly, and the blade itself has been previously sharpened with some pitting, run marks, and tiny nicks to one edge. The brown anodized scabbard bears solid nickel-silver fittings which bear some small dents, and scabbard generally remains in slightly rough shape, with slight flaking and oxidation to the fittings. The hardwood handle bears some dings, but the enameled SA rune button and solid nickel-silver crossguards -- the first type made for SA daggers – are very good. The pommel nut is slightly loose, suggesting previous opening. Overall, the dagger is in just good condition
