EARLY S.A. DAGGER WITH SCABBARD AND HANGER
Early SA dagger, approx. 8.5 in. blade, 13.5 in. overall, with hardwood handle, solid nickel-silver crossguards, and brown anodized scabbard. The ricasso bears the early 'crossed keys' maker's mark from 'F. Herder A.S.' of Solingen, while the crossguard is Gau-stamped 'Nnh', denoting its issue in Niederrhein. The deeply acid-etched 'Alles fur Deutschland' motto on the side of the blade remains dark, and the blade itself remains crisp and clean with an outstanding shine, save for some very small spots of surface corrosion and faint run marks. The brown anodized scabbard bears solid nickel-silver fittings which could use some cleaning, and scabbard generally remains in slightly rough shape, with slight flaking and oxidation and slight patina to the fittings. The hardwood handle bears an enameled SA rune button and solid nickel-silver crossguards -- the first type made for SA daggers. The dagger remains in very good condition.
