JAMES E. CARTER
(b. 1924) Thirty-ninth President of the United States who engineered a break-through in Arab-Israeli relations. Lot of four signed books, includes: 'Palestine, Not Apartheid' (New York: Simon & Schuster), 2006. 264pp. 8vo., signed on front flyleaf; 'Sources of Strength; (New York: Times Books), 1997. 252pp. 8vo., signed on the front flyleaf; 'The Virtues of Aging' (New York: Ballantine Publishing), 1998. 140pp. 8vo., signed on the front flyleaf; and 'Lilian Carter: A Compassionate Life' by GRANT HAYTER-MENZIES (Jefferson: McFarland and Company), 2015. 228pp. 8vo. Carter signs boldly on a bookplate, affixed to the title page. The author signs on the half-title page in black ink. All four volumes are very fine.
