Letter by Rabbi Levi Sholom First to the managers of Kollel Shomrei HaChomos with a request for an Etrog from Eretz Yisroel and a letter detailing the donors for the poor of Eretz Yisroel. Scuz [Czechoslovakia], [1937].

[2] handwritten letters by Rabbi Levi Sholom First, with a list of the donors and the sums of their donations, with his signature and stamp to the heads and managers of Kollel Shomrei HaChomos of Jerusalem. Scuz [Czechoslovakia], [1937]: 
* "I hereby sincerely request if it is possible to send me a kosher Etrog since I am fond of the Etrogim of Eretz Yisroel and I am ready to pay its price. Please send me!". A letter with a request by Rabbi Sholom Levi First that he be sent an Etrog from Eretz Yisroel.

* "We are hereby sending by the Pressburg presidency for the poor of Eretz Yisroel ... and due to the upcoming Yamim Noraim ... therefore we wish to send the funds immediately in favor of those listed hereinafter". A letter detailing the dozens of donors for the poor of Eretz Yisroel, which is signed by Rabbi Wolf Adler as well. 

Enclosed with this item is the envelope in which the letters were sent, from which one of the postage stamps has been removed. 

Rabbi Levi Sholom [Leo] ben Rabbi Chaim David First (1882-1944), a disciple of the Da'as Sofer of Pressburg, a disciple of Rabbi Eliezer Chaim Deutsch of Bonyhad and a disciple of Rabbi Meir Yehuda Leib Prei of Shuran. Since 1914, succeeeded his future in-law, rRabbi Mordechai Ephraim Fischel Zussman Sofer, as the Rav of the Scuz (Slovakia) community and as Rosh Yeshiva there. Was killed on Kiddush Hashem in Auschwitz on the 27th of Sivan 1944. 

Fold marks, slight smearing of ink in some words, good-very good condition.
