HEINZ GREINER
(1895 - 1977) Wehrmacht general and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. Greiner commanded the 362nd Infantry Division on the Italian front, where heavy losses inspired the following widely-spread verse: 'The division of Greiner / Gets chopped ever finer / Until roll call's a one liner / That simply says: Greiner'. Fine content typed D.S. in his personal letterhead, 2pp. 4to., Rottach, Apr. 6, 1960, Greiner's 'lebenslauf' or resume setting forth all of the important details of his life from birth to the time of writing. Fine. Sold with a 1944 German press photo picturing the general, 5 x 7 in.
