JOHN F. KENNEDY
(1917 - 1963) Thirty-fifth President of the United States. Kennedy faced-down the Kruschev during the Cuban Missile Crisis, re-invigorated NASA, and signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Assassinated November 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. T.L.S. 'John Kennedy' on his U.S. Senate letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, Mar. 22, 1957 Prof. Willard Thorp (1899-1992), an economist who served as an advisor to Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy and who helped draft the Marshall Plan. In part: '...thank you for your recent letter discussing the Middle Eastern situation and limitations of oil exports. I am enclosing copies of my two Middle Eastern speeches and most recent press release relative to imports of residual fuel oil...' Staple holes along top margin, else very good condition with a fine, bold signature.
