Assassinated November 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. T.L.S. 'John Kennedy' on his U.S. Senate letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, Mar. 22, 1957 Prof. Willard Thorp (1899-1992), an economist who served as an advisor to Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy and who helped draft the Marshall Plan. In part: '...thank you for your recent letter discussing the Middle Eastern situation and limitations of oil exports. I am enclosing copies of my two Middle Eastern speeches and most recent press release relative to imports of residual fuel oil...' Staple holes along top margin, else very good condition with a fine, bold signature.
