JOSEPH KENNEDY, SR.
(1888 – 1969) American businessman, investor and politician known for his high-profile positions in government and for the political and other achievements of his children. Father of assassinated President John F. Kennedy and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Hyannisport, May 21, 1941 to John G. Erhardt who had served under him as Consul in London. Kennedy thanks his old friend for his attempts to assist a friend with immigration issues, apparently an effort to obtain an entry visa, adding: '...I am still looking forward to some of our golf games if this mess ever calms down...'. Fine.
